District 2 is the place where most of the Peacekeepers are trained and where the weapons are manufactured, but originally specialized only in mining and stone cutting. Publicly it's presented as the nation's stone quarries, just like District 13 was known for graphite mining. District 2 children are raised with a warrior mind-set and most of the Peacekeepers are from District 2. This district was the only one not on the side of the first rebellion and after were rewarded by better treatment from the Capitol and their citizens have better living conditions. District 2 is in the Rocky Mountains, near the Capitol itself. The district is made up of many small villages, each based around a mine. Though the district is on the whole allied with the Capitol, due to their preferential treatment, the quarry workers suffer as much as any other district, and have far less loyalty to Snow.

District 3's main industry is electronics. They specialize in televisions, automobiles, and explosives. It is one of the richest districts in Panem. Most of its inhabitants work in factories and are very well adept with engineering. The bread from this district is bite-sized square-shaped rolls.

District 4 is one of the wealthiest districts in Panem. Its industry is fishing, which is useful for tributes in the Games as they have experience in using nets and tridents, making fishhooks from scratch, swimming, and identifying edible sea life. Being one of the wealthier districts, District 4 tends to produce Career Tributes who volunteer to participate in The Hunger Games. These children are grown and raised to win the Games, making them stronger and much more capable of winning than the average tribute. Its bread is a salty, fish-shaped loaf tinted green by seaweed.

District 5 is the main supplier of power within Panem, therefore, it plays a very important role in making the Districts and the Capitol work smoothly. The District is especially important around the time of the Hunger Games in ensuring that all of the Districts are able to watch the Hunger Games without disturbances. This does cause some minor conflicts within the District of power, but the Peacekeepers are specially trained to deal with such things as quickly and efficiently as possible

District 6 principal industry is transportation. District 6 is also known to be very unstable, and could be several times larger than even Districts 11 or 2. Some of the citizens in District 6 are morphling addicts. They are also in charge of creating and providing medicine for Panem. Many in this district will have an understanding of herbs.

District 7 provides lumber for the Capitol, and the tributes of District 7 are know to be good with axes. District 7 is apparently covered in large portions of pine forest.

District 8 is one of the districts of Panem. Its principal industry is the production of textiles and clothing. They have at least one factory that is primarily used for making Peacekeeper uniforms. It is mainly a cold place, especially when working.

District 9 is responsible for grain. They are in charge of grain and food processing. Half of the industry also focuses on hunting. The district catches and prepares the food. Also shipping the supplies of food to the Capitol and other districts.

District 10's main industry is livestock, such as cattle to provide beef for the Capitol. They provide the meat and also breed the animals. This district is the ranching district. Residents in this district spend a lot of time with animals ad are able to train them.

District 11 is one of the poorer districts, right after District 12 in the nation of Panem. Their job is agriculture- orchards and fields of grain and cotton surround the district. Almost everything they grow goes to the Capitol. The rules, punishments, and restrictions are very high in this district. Most people start harvesting at a very young age.

District 12 is one of the poorest, most ridiculed districts in the nation of Panem. It was located in the Appalachian mountains. District 12 specialized in coal mining. Residents in this district have learned how to survive with minimal food or no food at all, considering they usually do not have enough to eat.

District 13 is a district of Panem that was supposedly destroyed by the Capitol during the first rebellion. It is said to be uninhabitable, the ruins still smoldering from the toxic bombs dropped on it. However, the district actually agreed to play dead in exchange for the Capitol leaving them alone. Its industries were mining graphite and nuclear science/technology. This is the reason that the Capital agreed to leave them alone.

The City Circle is where many capitol residents may poke out their windows at see the entrances and exits of tributes. Also Capitol residents may go on a stroll near President Snow's mansion. The Opening Ceremonies will occur here.
