Ariella was born on October 5th a little over fifteen years ago. She grew up in Panem, a country that rose up after a terrible catastrophe many years ago, also once called the United States of America. She lives in a place that used to be called Colorado, but is now part of District Five and District Nine.
Ariella's father died just after she was born due to suicide. He was tired of living in a life where everything he did was controlled. She was forced to live without being able to have a dad to count on.
When Ariella was ten, her mom remarried and had another child, a girl names Annabeth Lynn Reese. Their mother was lazy and caught up in herself, so Ariella raised her.
Ariella turned twelve, eligible for the reapings soon enough. It didn't scare her, though. Coming from a fairly rich district, and a wealthy family, she didn't have to enter her name more for the tesserae. She didn't need grain or oil. She had more than enough food to live on. When she turned fifteen, though...she was reaped, and she was frightened. She didn't want to leave Annabeth behind. Was her mother going to take care of her?
