history ! Shane never knew his Dad. He was only a little toddler when his father was killed in a fire. His Mom became really depressed and would leave Shane at home alone for days at a time. Shane's neighbors, the Fosters, took care of the young dark haired child until his mother finally returned pregnant. Shane was two years old when his sister, Charlotte, was born. But the father was never known. Shane's Mom seemed to be a different woman when Charlotte was born, as if she was reborn herself and raised her two children with love for the next thirteen years. Charlotte and Shane were determined to train in case of being reaped in the Hunger Games. But the year of Charlotte's thirteenth birthday things went terribly wrong. Charlotte died from a deadly sickness and ever since then Shane has been set to get into the Hunger Games to win for the both of them, if the chance to avenge his sister's death presents itself.
